Corporate governance
Birla Century, a division of Century Textiles & Industries, follows the good governance and fair practices adopted and prescribed by the parent company. All our actions are determined by fairness: we are fair to our customers, vendors, shareholders, business partners and society at large. Fairness, for us, is not just sticking to the letter of the law or the contract but appreciating its spirit and basing all our actions on being fair to the spirit of that understanding.

Corporate social responsibility
We provide employment opportunities and help in improving the lives of local communities. We are known for strong initiatives in India that stress innovation with a focus on self-sustaining programmes. The group believes in providing facilities in the form of educational institutions, hospitals, temples and other social activities for the benefit of its employees and society at large.

Care for the environment
Among many other efforts, Birla Century has, in line with the policy of Century Textiles & Industries, made a long-term commitment, to consciously eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals, such as certain cleaning chemicals, dyes and solvents. We made great efforts to guarantee reliable and safe power, and electricity at our plant is derived from natural energy sources, primarily gas.

At our 100-acre premises in Bharuch, Gujarat, we have ensured a more-than-adequate green cover, with landscaped walkways, gardens and water bodies adding to its beauty. We have also installed a zero-discharge effluent treatment plant to treat industrial effluents and wastes, to ensure no harm is done to the environment.

Employee relations
As a global company, we operate in diverse legal and cultural environments. To ensure that our commitment to human well-being is upheld, we abide by the code of conduct that applies to our operations. The code requires that Birla Century complies with all applicable laws governing occupational health and safety, compensation, hours of work and employee benefits.

Birla Century specifically forbids child or forced labour, and discrimination of any kind. We follow high standards of ethics, teamwork and honesty in all our operations.

Customer care
Customers are the focus of our work. We consider it our privilege to serve them and find solutions to any problems they may have. It is our constant endeavour to embrace new technologies, to develop the best products and to respond to changing customer needs. We aspire to maintain strict quality standards for our products and keep delivery commitments.

Excellence is non-negotiable in every aspect of our business process. Superior quality of performance is critical to our business growth and success. We constantly strive to exceed expectations, be they internal or external.

Human development
We strive to provide the best facilities, training, and opportunities to our workforce to refresh their knowledge and expand their skill sets.

Safety measures
Setting and enforcing workplace and occupational safety and health standards is given prime importance at Birla Century. We regularly carry out risk assessment of the workplace, ensure the comfort and safety of our employees and safe use of equipment.

Our company’s policy is to maintain all quality standards right from the raw materials stage to the yarn, weaving, processing and final packaging stage.
Highly qualified textile technocrats are involved in the testing at all stages and all international quality parameters and norms are followed. Our mechanical and chemical laboratories are equipped with the latest testing equipment.
